Permanently Mounting a Shared Folder in Kali Linux

Allowing a shared Windows folder to be accessed from a Kali Linux VM

Author: ExWeeto

A project that I am working on requires me to carry out a fair amount of Python programming. For reasons best known to me (and not important here!), I am using Pycharm on my Kali Linux virtual machine (VMWare), but I need to be able to read .csv files from a folder on my Win10, so I need the relevant folder shared in Windows and mounted in Linux. Author: Exweeto

I was able to boot from USB into a live instance of Kali, but when I tried to install from there it insisted on a CD-ROM drive, which it couldn't find. Here, then, is a solution that worked... running the ISO directly from the hard drive!
