Permanently Mounting a Shared Folder in Kali Linux

Allowing a shared Windows folder to be accessed from a Kali Linux VM

A project that I am working on requires me to carry out a fair amount of Python programming. For reasons best known to me (and not important here!), I am using Pycharm on my Kali Linux virtual machine (VMWare), but I need to be able to read .csv files from a folder on my Win10, so I need the relevant folder shared in Windows and mounted in Linux. Here's how I set thing up so the shared folder is automatically mounted when I start my Kali VM.

Microsoft Silverlight on Linux

I have an old Sony laptop that I decided to repurpose as a Linux box for general family use. Only once I'd killed Windows 7 on the machine, installed Linux Mint and other apps, and tried to watch one of my BlinkBox movies did I realise that Linux and MS Silverlight (which services like BlinkBox and Netflix use) don't play tegether nicely. So I did some hunting and found this solution...
